Your Role at Devbolt:

The Mission (the outcome you own)
  • Get students to three key milestones (“activation points”) quickly so they can land software engineering jobs.

  • You lead, not just support: identify real blockers, design the plan to fix them, and hold students to high standards.

  • Long-term: shape the coaching model and lead the delivery function at Devbolt.


What You’ll Own (your scoreboard)
  • Net Promoter Score (NPS) 50+

  • Refund rate under 3%

  • 24h first-response on Slack (Mon–Fri)

  • Time-to-Activation for:

    • AP1: SWE Foundations (Can solve LeetCode easy problems + build a full-stack CRUD app)

    • AP2: Job Ready (Completed 3 apprenticeship sprints successfully)

    • AP3: Market Ready (LinkedIn/resume, mock interviews, attained 3 live interviews)

  • Time-to-Hire: students landing software engineering roles

  • Collect testimonials and referrals post-activation and post-hire


What You’ll Do
  • Manage 50–100 active students

  • Run onboarding calls and create personalized implementation plans

  • Host 1–5 weekly group coaching calls, plus 1:1s as needed

  • Lead the apprenticeship program: act as scrum master, run sprint planning, conduct code reviews

  • Keep the platform and codebase clean: enforce standards, documentation, and tests

  • Spot training gaps; improve curriculum and student experience with the team

  • Coordinate Subject Matter Experts (recruiting, interview prep, etc.)

  • Log detailed CRM notes on each student

  • Join a Student Success standup daily

  • Growth track: help build systems and processes other coaches will later follow → become Head of Student Outcomes


What You Bring
  • Strong SWE skills (debugging, PR reviews, best practices, mentoring juniors)

  • Coaching ability: diagnose constraints, create plans, enforce accountability

  • Process discipline: scrum, documentation, clear written feedback

  • Ownership mindset: proactive, high standards, zero drama

  • US time zone availability

  • Excellent spoken + written English


Compensation & Upside

We reward performance, not tenure.

  • Base: $60,000/year

  • Commission: 10% of client payment plans you manage, 10% of upsells you drive, 10% of referrals from your students (refunds net against commission at the same rate)

  • Activation bonuses: AP1 $100, AP2 $200, AP3 $300, Hired $1,000

  • OTE: $60k–$120k+ based on performance (uncapped, the more impact you drive, the more you earn)

  • Growth Path: This role is designed as a feeder into Head of Student Outcomes, leading multiple coaches, shaping curriculum, and owning outcomes at scale. Proven performers can earn profit share and grow into a co-owner role.
